A specialized beekeeping training workshop for rural women was held at the Hosseiniyeh (community hall) of Ghaleh Bala village, with the participation of experts from the Agricultural Jihad Management of Shahrud County, the Beyarjomand Agricultural Center, and several members of women’s microcredit funds.
At the beginning of the session, Ms. Abiri from the County Extension Department welcomed the participants and spoke about the important role of women in small-scale home-based businesses and their significant contribution to supporting household expenses. She also shared information about the special planning and initiatives by the Agricultural Jihad for empowering and training rural women.
Following her remarks, Ms. Molla Najafi, the workshop instructor, provided detailed insights on the process of beekeeping and honey production.
The main goals of this workshop included:
Introducing honey bees and their characteristics
Familiarizing participants with essential beekeeping equipment
Identifying common bee diseases and ways to prevent and treat them
Teaching methods of breeding and honey production
Explaining the properties of honey and how to identify different types of honey
The training was conducted through illustrated presentations and active Q&A sessions between the instructor and the participants.
